Explanation: The slash in the chord name indicates that the second letter is added as a new bass note. Am7/D should therefore be read as A minor seventh chord with a D note in the bass and so forth. Note that Am7/D would also be possible to play using two hands without an inversion.
Theory: Am7/D could be seen as an inversion of Am11 with the ninth omitted. Am7/F is identical with Fmaj9. Am7/F# could be seen as an inversion of Am13 with the ninth and the eleventh omitted.
